School Business Community Partnership Broker to Business and Industry

The Partnership Brokers will work to build sustainable, strategic partnerships to improve education and transition outcomes and support young people to remain engaged, or reengage, in education or training and realise their full social and economic potential. Outcomes will be delivered to four key stakeholder groups including:

  • Education and Training Providers
  • Parents and Families
  • Business and Industry
  • Community Groups

As a Partnership Broker our aim is to:

  • Establish high quality partnerships that link key stakeholders together with shared commitment, goals and outcomes to improve young people’s education and transition outcomes.
  • Develop partnerships that address the needs of a region involving a number of stakeholder groups to help improve young people’s education and transition outcomes.
  • Build sustainable partnerships, engaging business and industry, that actively support the development of young people, contribute to the skills and knowledge of the future workforce and improve young people’s education and transition outcomes.

Quality LinCS will provide a step by step planned approach to partnerships where partners can establish mutual trust and respect which will build effective relationships and deliver sustainable outcomes.

Partnership Brokers bring:

  • high level communication skills;
  • a broad knowledge of industry sectors;
  • an independent third party perspectiv; and 
  • experience in stakeholder engagement strategies and processes.

Furthermore, brokering 'partnerships' involves convening and managing sessions where the partners feel they can contribute to the resolution of issues and the negotiation of agreement. To ensure the facilitation exercise fits within the overall process and outcomes desired, Partnership Brokers and partners must:

  • develop a clear agenda and ensure adequate preparation is undertaken;
  • help partners discover underlying issues/interests;
  • maintain focus;
  • encourage all to participate and contribute while respecting people's individual views;
  • challenge and question; and 
  • work with partners to develop clear next steps and actions.
