Regional Advisory Partnership (RAP)

Purpose:

To encourage and support the effective integration and co-ordination of policy, strategy and services targeting the attainment and transition needs of young people across the Southern Adelaide, Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island region.

Aims:

Education and training providers, industry and the community actively working together to improve:

1. Participation in learning;
2. SACE Completion or equivalent (Certificate II or above) and;
3. Transition outcomes.

Role of the Committee:

• Encourage and support the establishment of sustainable strategic partnerships across the region between the key stakeholders representing, education and training, parents and families, community groups, business and industry.
• Provide a public forum for the discussion of the strategic issues impacting on youth attainment and transition programs and encourage the formulation of a consensus view as to its effective management across the region.
• Provide strategic advice and recommendations to key stakeholder organisations as to the effective implementation of youth attainment and transition programs.
• Support the development and implementation of innovative projects.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the youth attainment and transitions policy, strategy and service settings across the region and provide feedback to the key stakeholder organisations.
• Advocate on behalf of the region and its key stakeholders for better integration and co-ordination of youth attainment and transition programs.
• Contribute towards a 10 year regional Youth and Transition Plan.
